Program

1ST PART - W. A. Mozart

Sinfonia n. 36 in do maggiore, K. 425 "Linz" (Linzer Sinfonie)

Composed in 1783 in just four days during a stopover in Linz, Symphony No. 36 is a masterpiece of Classical elegance and brilliant spontaneity. It is notable for being Mozart's first symphony to open with a solemn, mysterious Adagio introduction, which quickly gives way to an atmosphere of vibrant energy and melodic fluidity. The work shines through its flawless formal architecture, the balanced dialogue among instruments, and a lively spirit typical of the Enlightenment.

1. Conductor: Rafael Gutierrez (Mexico)
2. Conductor: Stefano Borsarelli
3. Conductor: Hakob Atyan (Armenia)
4. Conductor: Francesco Albarelli

2ND PART P. I. Tchaikovsky
Sinfonia n. 5 in mi minore, op. 64

Composed in 1888, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony is a monumental musical drama centered on the struggle against Fate. This theme is represented by a recurring motif that weaves through all four movements, transforming from initial melancholic darkness into an almost liberating triumph in the finale. Characterized by lush orchestration and the second movement's famous, deeply intense horn solo, the symphony sweeps the listener away with raw, overwhelming emotional power.

1. Conductor: Dominik Steklasa (Slovenia)
2. Conductor: Andrea Mura
3. Conductor: Stephan Smoktunowicz
4. Conductor: Federico Fenu

ST. PAUL’S WITHIN THE WALLS CHURCH
The 19th-century church of St. Paul within the Walls is an Anglican church located in the city centre of Rome and it has always hosted classical music performers and singers because of its fine acoustics. Built in 1873, it was the first non-Catholic Roman church to be built inside the walls of Rome.
The Church’s atmosphere becomes utterly magic at night, when the moonlight pierces through the rose windows and the candles enlighten the nave in a religious silence. Abandon yourself to the beauty of our concerts in a suggestive atmosphere.
An incredible intimate experience in the heart of the eternal city, at the border between past and future.
